I, of course, have owned the CD version of Bergtatt for many years now, but sometimes, you simply need to acquire the digital version of an album for reasons that speak to the very essence of one’s soul. Bergtatt is very much the equal of the legendary Norwegian second-wave black metal albums such as In the Nightside Eclipse, Pure Holocaust, Under a Funeral Moon, and Vikingligr Veldi, though this is by far the mellowest of the batch. Ulver is still great, but this remains its magnum opus.

It was about time to add Kveldssanger to my bandcamp collection, as it is an absolutely essential neofolk record I enjoy highly. While I rarely roam outside the metal territory nowadays, I sometimes feel the urge for something different and Kveldssanger hits that spot precisely. Ulvsblakk may well be my favourite non-metal song of all time. Still, as another commenter already pointed out, this album is absolutely black metal in attitude and spirit. Ulver's creative work is impeccable.
